CAUTION, THIS IS NASTY!!

So I've been cleaning the house like a mad-woman and the master shower is pretty nasty. The drain was seemingly a little clogged and there was hair stuck on the drain cover as is, so I take it off to get the hair off, and there is hair stuck on the sides too! So I pull it and out comes this HUGE glob. I slightly freak out thinking how big and gross this thing is. And I kept pulling and it keeps coming. The sheer size and nature of this thing warranted me taking pics of it to show my battle with the ginormous hairball! seriously, it was moldy and soggy and huge. So, here it is. Look at it with caution, as you may want to vomit while looking at it, which is what I want to do every time I see it. Even when I pick up the garbage bag that has it in there, I have to wear my trusty rubber gloves to not feel contaminated by it.

Mom and I being silly with our ponies!

So while we were in UT we went for a ride the last day we were there. Dad and Matt walked the dogs while mom and I rode our favorite ponies! After we were done on the little trail mom and I goofed off. Our horses are so good; look how happy my old guy is the whole time! Ears up and looking perky! They are so good to put up with our silliness, esp Rusty. The pics show our fun!

Appraisal Tomorrow!

AHHH! So this is a big deal. If this doesn't go well then it could really pro-long the closing process for the house...so it needs to go well. We're not worried about it; just ready for it to be over so we can finally close and have a place to live! I'm so ready to get out of this hotel and be living a normal day to day again! And we're excited to actually start doing what we've been planning on doing; paint, floors, yard work-all of it. So please pray and keep your finers crossed that all goes well tomrorow and we'll be able to finally close!
Also, I found out I get to start cleaning! YAY!! Time to put on the groadie jeans and start washing walls, cleaning ovens, vaccuming up dead bugs and spiders, and get ready to steam clean once we close! So excited!

1166 Amarillo Court

This is it!! Cute huh? So this is what the house looks like as is right now. After we're done painting and doing the floors and other stuff I'll post those pics too. Like a before and after shots! We are so excited to be getting a place of our own and to hopefully be moving in very soon! Everyone needs to come see us once we're settled to check out our new place!
So the sequence of the pics goes as follows: outside, small front left room (like a sitting area), front right room (like an office), kitchen, living room, living room (we have a fireplace...not really necessary in cali but whatever!), kitchen, master bedroom, master bath (don't think you can see the CARPET on the bath floor!!), other bath, 1 of the rooms (there are 2 extra rooms but this was the worse color one!), then lastly the hurting backyard. So as you can see, hopefully, we need to paint very badly. I'm also going to redo the front plants and also do some planting (esp a tree or 2) in the back since it faces southwest and gets lots of sun! Let us know what you think! We have just been so blessed through this process and God has really been working out the kinks and making it go so smoothly! Praise Him! Hopefully we'll be in by memorial day weekend!!

So a few weeks ago it rained a bit out here and we went out to the house and discovered several of these guys suctioning themselves across the back door! I thought they were fun so we took a pic on one, which was hard to do! Stupid camera had a hard time focusing, but we got one good one! I wonder if he got a head rush as all going down like that ;)

Why DID the chicken cross the road?

So Matt and I are driving down the road, switching to hotel #2 out of 3 since we've been here, and I look over and there are some chickens and roosters on the side of the road, a major road I might add, and I thought what the heck! Totally random one time thing I think. But no, we drive by again the next day, and they are still there. Then we go to the movies the other night, and they are still there! They are hanging out, eating bugs and stuff, and crowing like crazy! And the really do have to cross a side street to get from one grassy area to the other. As Matt and I walk into the theater I asked him, HOW do you think the chickens cross the road? He laughed and said I can't believe you actually sad that. The reason I asked was because they had to cross a pretty big side street (that's lighted none-the-less!) so get from one side to the other. Chickens are ok flyers but not the greatest so I was wondering if they walked, which would be a truly dangerous enterprise! I'm going to get some pictures soon and post them so everyone can see these crazy roosters and chickens on the side of the road! Small town, what can I say?

So these are a few pics I took of the chickens and roosters by the road. I'm not on the road side cause I would've had to stop basically on the road and it's pretty busy so I need Matt's help so we can take drive by pics! But, as you can see, there is a road, and chickens walking around right next to it. Don't worry, I'll get better pics to show the true craziness of these chickens!

Into the land of milk and honey?

So no pics yet but I figured I'd write a little something about our drive to CALIFORNIA! We arrived last night at about 9:15 PM after 10 long hours of driving through desert, desert and more desert. Thankfully all those years of driving through Wyoming to get back and forth from UT and CO has conditioned me for such boring drives! However, poor Matt was completely stir-crazy by the time we hit the CA border and we still had about 2 hours to go. For some crazy reason, all semi-truck traffic was diverted through the route we needed to go so that last hour took 2 and it was slow! I'll put up some pics later of what the salty desert west of salt lake looks like. Like salt! Never would've guessed huh? It's hard to drive and take pics at the same time so there aren't a whole lot, but some that I think all will enjoy! Driving through the CA mountains through Tahoe was really lovely; lots of places to hike and camp! While we drove through it was sunset which was amazing; a truly beautiful sight through the trees! From what we could see in the darkness, Yuba is really small. We were prepared for small town but it's almost smaller than we thought. That was just the initial look though; I'm headed out today for some exploration while Matt gets to go to work! Tomorrow is the beginning of house hunting with our realtor Shelia; I'm very excited to meet her and see what's in store! We are so excited to see what God has for us here! We know He brought us here for a purpose and we're ready to see what happens! Hopefully we'll get lots of visitors from home and school soon! Once we find a place to live, we hope to get settled quickly then have a BBQ for the neighbors, coworkers, and anyone else who wants to come visit and/or get to know us! Ok, I'm going out to see our new home! Pics will be posted soon!
